kucing menyusukan anak……

hanya nak tempekkan gambar

indah dunia ini

kucing pun pandai susukan anak

siap boleh tandem nursing

malulah kita manusia jika menidakkannya…

kucing menyusu anak

renungkanlah….

wajarkah pacifier digunakan?

Penggunaan pacifier.Perlukah?
Jawapan saya:TIDAK PERLU.Untuk apa?
Penerangan:
Saya memang anti puting tiruan, apatah lagi jika puting kosong!

From http://www.patient.co.uk/health/Thrush-Oral-in-Babies.htm

Oral thrush in babies is not usually serious and can usually be cleared with treatment.

What is oral thrush?

Thrush is an infection caused by a yeast germ called Candida. The mouth is a common site where Candida causes infection. This is called oral thrush. Other common sites for thrush to develop are the vagina, nappy area, and nail folds. (See separate leaflets about these other types of thrush.)

Why do some babies get oral thrush?

Small numbers of Candida commonly live on healthy skin and in a healthy mouth. They are usually harmless. However, for reasons that are not clear, an ‘overgrowth’ of Candida occurs in the mouth of some babies. This can cause a bout of oral thrush. About 1 in 7 babies develop a bout of oral thrush at some point. It is most common in babies younger than 10 weeks, but it can occur in some older babies too. Oral thrush is not usually due to poor hygiene, and it does not usually mean that the baby is ill in any other way. Some babies have recurring bouts.

What are the symptoms of oral thrush?

  • White spots usually develop in the mouth and on the tongue. The spots may join together to form larger spots or ‘plaques’. They may become yellow or grey.
  • The baby may not be bothered by the infection. However, sometimes the mouth becomes sore. Some babies may drool saliva, or refuse to feed properly because of soreness.

What is the treatment for oral thrush?

  • Many mild cases last a short time – just a few days or so – and clear without any treatment.
  • Your doctor may prescribe a gel that contains an anti-thrush drug called miconazole. You smear this onto affected areas in the mouth, as often as prescribed by your doctor. To avoid the very small risk of choking, apply a little at a time and not to the back of the throat. Little of this drug is absorbed into the body when swallowed. It works by killing the Candida germs within the inside of the mouth.
  • An alternative treatment is drops which contain an anti-thrush drug called nystatin. You use a dropper which comes with the drops to place the liquid onto affected areas.
  • See your doctor if the thrush has not cleared within seven days of starting treatment.

Can oral thrush be prevented?

Most bouts of oral thrush occur for no apparent reason. However, the following tips may help to prevent some bouts.

  • Regularly sterilise all dummies and other mouth toys used by a baby.
  • If you bottle feed, regularly sterilise all feeding equipment, especially teats.
  • Some people suggest giving a baby a drink of sterilised water after a feed. This rinses away any residual milk in the mouth which Candida may thrive on.

What is Thrush and How Can You Tell If Your Baby Has It

By Kristi Patrice Carter

Every mother worries about her newborn baby’s health. It can be frightening to hear your baby has thrush, but it is not a life-threatening condition. Once diagnosed, the treatment for thrush can be simple and harmless.

Thrush is a common infection in the mouth caused by a fungus called Candida Albicans. This fungus is a form of yeast, which is prevalent in the human body. Newborns typically develop thrush around 7 to 10 days after birth. Infants can get thrush from the mother’s birth canal, as this fungus is typically found in the vagina. Once an infant has thrush, it is not uncommon for that infant to develop thrush more than once.

The signs of thrush include:

  • White spots on the sides, roof, and tongue of the baby’s mouth that do not scrape off easily. Once scraped off, the areas under the spots are red and often bleed.
  • Your baby starts crying during feeding or when using a pacifier.

Oral thrush can be easily treated by Nystatin, an antifungal medicine that kills Candida Albicans. Other possible treatments include Clotrimazole and Miconazole. If you are breastfeeding your baby, you will also need to be treated for oral thrush. If you do not get treated, it is possible to pass thrush back to your baby again. You can use Nystatin cream on your breasts in order to kill any Candida Albicans present.

Some tips to prevent any recurrence of oral thrush include:

  • If you are breastfeeding, allow your nipples to air dry after each feeding. This will prevent the growth of Candida Albicans.
  • Clean and sterilize all bottles and pacifiers. Allow them to completely dry before giving them to your baby.
  • Discard any nipples or pacifiers that your baby used prior to your learning of the infection. It is difficult to completely rid these items of Candida Albicans.
  • Give your baby a bottle of sterilized water after breastfeeding. This will wash away any milk residue and clean your baby’s mouth.
  • Make it a habit to check your baby’s mouth every day. If thrush does recur, you will want to seek immediate medical care.

If your newborn baby develops the signs of thrush, do not panic. However, be sure to seek medical attention for your baby and you, especially if you are breastfeeding. Although rarely life-threatening, it is important to treat the condition immediately in order to ensure the comfort and well-being of your baby.
